There are a few things you can do to make it more comfortable and protect your extensions while you sleep.
The first day you have extensions going to sleep with them can feel a little uncomfortable. It doesn’t take long for you to get used to having hair extensions and your daily routine doesn’t have to change too much to ensure you keep your extensions looking their best.
Here are a few of our suggestions of how to sleep with hair extensions:
Braid your hair
Braiding your hair is a great way to keep your extensions from tanging while you sleep. Make sure to use a gentle technique when braiding and use a hair tie to secure your braid in place. This is also a great way to achieve heatless waves, once you release your braid you will have soft waves.
Don’t sleep with wet hair
Sleeping with wet hair can cause your extensions to tangle so make sure to thoroughly dry your hair before going to bed. You should always make sure you thoroughly dry where the connections of your extensions are and don’t leave your hair to air dry.
Protect Your Extensions
If you have a clip in extensions make sure to remove them before you go to bed. When you purchase Clip In extensions online or in the salon, we will give you a Vixen and Blush pouch which is the perfect place to keep your Clip Ins. Our Clip In extensions are made using the same finest quality hair that all our extension methods are. This means with the correct care and maintenance your Clip In set will last you for years! As Clip In’s are a temporary method it’s best not to wear them for long periods of time, they can easily be clipped in and out for a special occasion or events.
Tie Your Hair Up
If you don’t want to braid your hair, you can tie it up in a loose bun or ponytail. We recommend low hairstyles when you have hair extensions, so you don’t over direct your extensions. No high pony’s or buns allowed.
Following these tips will help ensure that your hair extensions stay looking great and stay healthy for the recommend wear time!
